Massachusetts History
Maple Sugaring in Massachusetts has been around for centuries. Sugaring was not new to Massachusetts when the Pilgrims landed in 1620 has Plymouth Rock. We know that Native Americans had been making maple sugar for many years before this time but we do not know how the sweet nectar was discovered. There are many myths and legends following this but no known facts.

Massachusetts has a month-long celebration of “all things maple” in March every year.
